Height: 5’9” at the start of the school year, he's going through a rather huge growth spurt...
Weight: 140
Body type: Slim, wiry
Hair color: Light brown (mousey)
Eye color: Very dark brown

Abilities & Weaknesses
Strengths:
Very good at fist fighting and self-defence. His parents are Muggles, and he’s been taking self-defence classes since he was 7.
Weaknesses:
He’s rather weak in Transfiguration & Potions, and is not above asking for help or even copying homework from his fellow Gryffindors.
Jonathan’s passion (main life goal) is to be strong and independent.
Foible (major character flaw):
He is over-protective, possibly over-bearing. He doesn’t respond well to losing control (in any way, shape or form) of situations, and is rather bossy. He also has a need to follow direction at this time in life, though he struggles against it... the need to follow direction frustrates him in his quest to become strong and independent.
Physical Apperance
At first glance, you’d think of him as slightly athletic, young, and approachable. He is an average teenager, of average looks. Some might find him to be attractive, but for the most part, he’s a little plain.
Facial features: Eyes are deep-set, nose is straight and average size. Has a scar on his left eyebrow (noticeable) and one on his chin (faint).
Character Background/History:
Muggle-born. His father, Jonathan O’Neill Sr is a plumber and his mother Sarah O’Neill is a nurse. They live just outside of London and are a very working class family. So far, they have not found any evidence of magic in their bloodline (though admittedly Sarah's great uncle Theseus was a bit odd).
Jonathan grew up never knowing about magic, or doing magic. His first sign of magical talent came when he was four. A large spider crawled across his bed and he screamed. When his mother came in she fancied she saw him floating a few feet above the bed, crying his eyes out. He floated down a few minutes later, and she never mentioned it to anyone, but was rather less surprised then his Father was when his letter from Hogwarts came.
His father is of the opinion that boys are boys and they should play rugby and fight, so Jonathan grew up a real man’s man. He played sports and took self-defence classes, and continues to play rugby during the summer holidays.
Jonathan prefers his last name to his given name because his father always called him O’Neill and his mother ended up doing the same (it was just easier with two Jonathans in the house).
Jonathan has no brothers or sisters, and besides his parents, his only family is a spinster aunt who lives down the block.
Some keywords to describe his personality are: humorous, confident, bossy, optimistic, sarcastic, protective, impatient, critical, and arrogant.
Interested in knowing how O'Neill feels about the other characters in the game? An OOC summary is provided here.
More on his personality:
O'Neill is meant to embody all of the qualities of a true Gryffindor. Not a Gryffinpuff or a Ravendor or any other silly combinations. He is rash, he is arrogant, he is bold, brave, daring and he definitely isn't afraid to break rules. He has a tendency to act out, to speak before thinking and to be very sarcastic and acerbic.
His youth definitely means that he's not refined at all. His remarks are usually crass and crude. O'Neill's family is VERY Working Class... and that contributes to his somewhat unrefined behavior. His mum tries hard of course, but just can't seem to get her husband and son to act with class. O'Neill is proud that he can be crass, crude and loud about it. It's partially just acting out, but throughout his life, he'll carry this "I'll say what I want when I want" attitude.
O'Neill quits. He is a quitter. This is a VERY important part of his character. He will not stay with something just for the sake of staying with it. Once he feels a subject is useless he will drop it. If he decides his friends are too much work, he will get rid of them. O'Neill thinks it takes far more bravery to stop doing something, than to keep doing it just for the sake of doing it. He's just selfish enough
O'Neill has never felt at home in the Wizarding world. Unlike Harry Potter who instantly felt he belonged at Hogwarts... O'Neill felt out of his league, out of place and slightly overwhelmed. It is important to know that he HATES this feeling, more than anything else in the world. He would rather feel just about anything but out of control. Loss of control, stability, etc. worries him. It puts him on edge. It gives him that slightly grumpy quality that he wears around Hogwarts like a second skin.
O'Neill feels like he should be a plumber like his father, or even a cop. He's always wanted to be a cop, or a firefighter, some kind of Muggle "everyday hero". He feels like he COULD work in the Department of Magical Law Enforcement, but at the same time he feels like he could do just as much good in the Muggle-world.
Uncomfortable with pure-bloods for the most part, O'Neill tends to seek the company of other Muggleborns. He finds pure-bloods, for the most part, to be over dramatic. Pureblood Gryffindors are the only exceptions. O'Neill has a natural distrust for Slytherins, and Purebloods, feeling that they automatically think they're better than him. O'Neill feels like he is just as good as everyone else in the world... and people who act like they're better make him very angry. O'Neill's attitude could definitely be viewed as reverse discrimination.
Furthermore, he has a tendency to fight fire with fire. O'Neill feels that if an enemy is going to use Unforgivable Curses that gives him the right to do the same. He feels like it would be a poor strategy to try to be noble and not use the Unforgivable. His goals will ALWAYS come from a pure-heart but his means to achieve them can be questionable.
Lastly, O'Neill believes very strongly that there are things worse than death. VERY strongly. He'd never give up his freedom to live, and if he lost enough he'd absolutely try to end his life. Again, to him, life is about quality not quantity.
Quote: "So yeah, maybe I'll be an Auror. But I'm working harder this year. I'll still cause trouble when trouble needs causing, and I'll still be whatever Von wants me to be, and I'll always be Raegan's best mate (for as long as she'll have me anyway). But maybe I'll be something more someday, and that'd be pretty fucking sweet."
Personality type:
ESTJ- Supervisor Guardians are squarely on the side of rules and procedures, and they can be quite serious about seeing to it that others toe the mark—or else face the consequences. They do not hesitate to give their stamp of approval, nor do they withhold their directions or suggestions for improvement. Like seasoned, stalwart umpires, Supervisors will set their jaw and make the call on anyone who steps up to bat. They even feel obligated to do so, and they’re sometimes surprised when others don’t seem grateful for being set straight.
Comprising at least ten percent of the population, Supervisors go by experience and that is what counts, not speculation and experimentation, and certainly not fantasy. They keep their feet firmly on the ground and make sure that those under their supervision do the same, whether employee, subordinate, offspring, or spouse. If others wish to fool around and daydream, fine, as long as they do it on their own time—which means after the job is done. But if they fritter away their time while on duty, they should not be surprised when the Supervisor calls them on the carpet. The top sergeant will not put up with such nonsense.
Supervisors are gregarious and civic-minded, and are usually key players of their community. They are generous with their time and energy, and very often belong to a variety of groups, supporting them through steady attendance, but also taking a vocal leadership role. Indeed, membership groups of all kinds attract Supervisors like magnets, perhaps because membership satisfies in some degree their need to maintain the stability of social institutions. Like all the Guardians, Supervisors worry a good deal about society falling apart, morality decaying, standards being undermined, traditions being lost, and they do all they can to preserve and to extend the institutions that embody social order. Supervisors are so in tune with the established institutions and ways of behaving within those institutions, that they have a hard time understanding those who might wish to abandon or radically change them.

To me, from my very best mate, Raegan
O’Neill is his name
But it is not his first name
His dad is Senior
He’s a muggleborn
Of course that’s not a bad thing
His mum and dad rock!
They have Muggle jobs
His dad plumbs and mum nurses
They look so happy
Raegan is his mate
She’s the best person ever
He hearts her the most
He’s a Gryffindor
And as brave as they can come
He’s full of courage
He likes to pull pranks
And get detention for them
Fire is funny
He goes to classes
Muggle Studies is his fav
He gets good grades too
He likes to fight fair
And nothing behind the back
He’ll punch your face in
He has a “Half Pint”
Her real name is Alice
She’s called 8 ounces
He likes to go fish
He cheats by using his wand
Then it’s a sword fight
If he talks dirty
Don’t mind him, it’s really big
Well that’s what he says
I think he’s crushing
On a very pretty girl
He deserves it too
He likes to shoot off
Especially to Pond Scum
It’s fun to watch them
So this is for you
The best mate I’ve ever had
I love you to death!
